Airclay Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy describes how Airclay ("Airclay," "we," "us," or "our") handles information when you use the Airclay application (the "App") on iOS, the web, or any other platform on which it is distributed.
In plain language: Airclay does not require an account, does not ask you for personal information, and does not include analytics or advertising SDKs. Information you create in the App is stored on your device using your platform's standard storage.
1. Information we collect
Airclay is designed to function without collecting personal information about its users. In particular, we do not:
- Ask you to create an account or to sign in.
- Ask for your name, email address, phone number, or other personal contact information.
- Integrate third-party analytics, advertising, or social-media SDKs whose purpose is to track or profile you.
- Operate a backend service that receives or stores information about individual users.
In the course of normal operation, the App may make routine technical requests that are required by your operating system, the platform on which it is running, or framework components (for example, requests to retrieve fonts, system resources, or platform services). Those requests are not directed to servers we operate and are not used by us to identify you.
2. Information stored on your device
When you use Airclay, the App saves information locally on your device so it can remember your work between sessions. This typically includes:
- The sounds, groupings, and presets you create within the App.
- The settings and preferences you configure within the App.
- A short history of items you have recently used, which can be cleared from within the App.
This information is stored using your operating system's standard local-storage mechanisms. On the web version, this information is stored using your browser's local storage or IndexedDB. Depending on your operating-system settings, that storage may be included in device backups (for example, iCloud Backup on iOS) or synchronized across your own devices. Those backup and synchronization mechanisms are controlled by you through your operating system, not by Airclay.
When you uninstall the App, the locally stored information is removed from the device, except to the extent your operating system retains a backup copy under your own backup settings.
3. Third-party services
Airclay does not integrate third-party SDKs whose purpose is to collect information about you for analytics, advertising, profiling, or similar uses. From time to time, the App may rely on operating-system services, framework components, or content-delivery networks that are required to display the App or its assets. Those services act as part of the normal technical operation of the App and are not used by us to profile you.
The App is distributed through Apple's App Store, which independently collects information from you as part of its store operation. That collection is governed by Apple's privacy policy, not this one. See https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/ for details. We may also have access to anonymized crash reports and aggregated usage metrics provided directly by Apple (if you have opted in via your iOS device settings), which contain no personally identifiable information.
4. Children's privacy
Airclay does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children under the age of 13. Because Airclay does not collect personal information through its own systems, no additional handling of children's data is required. The App is suitable for users of all ages.
5. Your rights
Because Airclay does not collect or store personal information on any server we operate, there is no personal information about you in our possession for us to access, correct, port, or delete on your behalf.
You retain control over the information stored locally on your device. From within the App you can:
- Delete the saved sounds and groupings you have created.
- Clear your recently played history.
- Remove all locally stored data by uninstalling the App.
If you are a resident of the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, California, or another jurisdiction that grants you data-protection rights (including under the GDPR, UK GDPR, or CCPA/CPRA), those rights still apply in principle. Because we do not hold personal data about you on our own systems, any access, deletion, or portability request directed to us would return a negative result. You may still contact us at the address below to confirm this.
6. Security
Information stored locally by Airclay inherits the security model of your device's operating system, including any device-level encryption you have enabled. We do not maintain a server-side store of user information, so there is no Airclay-operated database to protect on your behalf.
7. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make a material change, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Where a change would introduce a new category of data collection or a new sharing practice, we will provide reasonable prior notice, including within the App itself where practical, and obtain any consent required by applicable law before that change takes effect.
The current version of this Privacy Policy, as hosted at https://airclay.app/privacy.
